Bryan Poulsen’s contemporary classical music for orchestra and wind symphony has been performed in Berlin, Chicago, London, Lisbon, Tunis, and Washington, D.C. He currently resides in Frankfurt, Germany.
Bryan's soaring piece for orchestra, "Brush of the Sweeping Skies" recently won the Knox-Galesburg Symphony's International Call for Scores. His piece for string orchestra, piano, and solo English horn, "Battaglia", has premiered with the Tunisian National Youth Symphony.
Bryan learned the piano at a young age and later picked up the trombone, euphonium, and guitar, expanding his knowledge of instruments and experience as a performer. He was the principal trombonist of the Washington D.C. Temple Orchestra and played bass trombone with the Loudoun Jazz Ensemble. He has also performed in orchestras for over a dozen musicals and other theatrical productions.
Bryan is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) and the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers (ASMAC).
